The short version. Capturat has no account, no server and no analytics. Your screenshots and everything read out of them stay on your Mac. We cannot see them, because there is nowhere for them to go. This website sets no cookies and runs no trackers.

Who is responsible for your data?

Capturat is operated by BTN Group, registered in Romania, which is the data controller for the limited processing described below. You can reach us at hello@capturat.com about anything on this page.

What personal data do we collect?

From the app: none. Capturat has no sign-up, no login, no device identifier and no telemetry. It never transmits your screenshots, the text read out of them, your tags, your notes or any record of what you captured.

From this website:

Once purchases exist, the store handling the payment will process your billing details. We will receive confirmation that a licence exists, never your card number.

What is our lawful basis for processing?

No processing takes place inside the app itself, so no lawful basis is required for the screenshots you take. They are simply yours.

How long is anything kept?

Who else sees your data?

There are no advertising networks, analytics providers, tracking pixels or third-party scripts anywhere in the app or on this site. The only processors involved are:

Apple's frameworks run on your own device and are not a third party receiving your data; nothing is sent to Apple by Capturat.

Is data transferred outside the EU?

This site is hosted within the EU. If a processor ever operates elsewhere, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

What rights do you have?

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

Under the CCPA and CPRA, California residents have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and never have. Exercising any of these rights will never degrade the app for you.

Write to hello@capturat.com to exercise any right. In practice the answer for the app is usually the same: we hold nothing about you, so there is nothing to hand over or erase. Your screenshots are on your own disk, under your own control.

Does this website use cookies?

No. This site sets no cookies of any kind — no analytics, no preferences, no session. That is why you were not asked to consent to any. If that ever changes, a cookie banner and a cookie policy will appear here before it does, and non-essential cookies will be off until you say otherwise.

What about children?

Capturat is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children, and knowingly collects nothing from anyone of any age.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS with a strict transport policy. Because the app holds nothing centrally, there is no database of user content to breach. Vulnerability reports are welcome at our security contact.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any change affecting what leaves your Mac will be described in the app's release notes rather than quietly revised here.
